It's a Goode Life: Random

Crabbypants here.

I am tired. That is what no afternoon nap will do to ya. Cruel, cruel world.

And now two whole days in...I am longing for the best holiday all year. MLK Day. The first holiday after all the "big ones" a.ka. the next day off. I don't know about everyone else, but my January Calendar looks like someone tried to cram 3 mths into 31 days at gun-point. What the heck was I thinking?

This week has officially chewed me up and spit me back out and it is only Tuesday. TUUUUUEEEESSSDDAYY... sheesh.

So tonight is going to be "Random Thoughts Night" to go along with my scrambled brain.

Random Thought #1:
I am looking for the reset button on the 2 year old, but can't seem to find it... our house is filled with Jingle Bells, Joy to the World, Merry Christmas wishes and a lot of Happy Holidays... Guess I can't exactly complain. We DO still have the Christmas tree up...day 5 into January...lol !

Random Thought #2:
I cannot find light bulbs to fit my fan and I am down to one (of 4) bulb! The part the screws in is a size between the tiny and the regular and we cannot find them... not to mention that we have to perform an acrobatic feat to change them at the top of our stairwell. Thank heavens for this thing:

Although it doesn't exactly make things "easy". There are suction cups and strings involved and it is guaranteed to be about 6 inches shorter than you need it to be at any given moment.

It is like a really bad team building exercise. Maybe THAT is why there are always those "How many ______s does it take to change a light bulb" jokes.

Random Thought #3
Big Love comes back on on Sunday and I am excited. I love that show. If you missed last season, they are replaying it on HBO this week. I think I might commit to watching it on Sunday nights with El. She has been lonely lately. Oh and enough time has passed that we finally replaced this poor thing. May she rest in peace. I am getting a slow start to this getting back on track, but I am getting there.

Random Thought #4
I want to do a bible study on the life of Paul and/or a topical study on the bible's instruction regarding thoughts. The power of your thoughts has always intrigued me...I just haven't been able to find a good study out there on either of those yet. May just do it via http://www.biblegateway.com/ on my own. Not a big fan of studies full of commentary and low on scripture anyhow. Besides, I heart biblegateway. It is great for topical studies and also great for looking up scripture that you can't remember where it is or exactly what it said. I keep telling myself I am going to set up a quiet little desk space upstairs with plenty of  quiet and room to stretch out and study, but never get around to it.

Random Thought #5
I wore a sweater today that was 2 sizes too big. It fit just right this time last year. I was shocked when it was so big this morning. I am struggling with a mentality that I have gained all the weight back even though my scale and my clothes say otherwise. The mind is a crazy thing sometimes. I think this time it is coming from my lack of discipline over the holidays with my food choices and exercise. Things are a lot different now, so when I go way off track it has to be deliberate. It is almost like self-sabotage but it isn't working... if that makes sense. I know it will eventually work if I don't get my head on straight. So, I am getting back on the ball (literally...lol!) and I am so relieved. Trying to live healthy has become my normal for the first time in my life and frankly it is a bit odd.

Random Thought #6
I have gotten some good loot from a lot of tips I have found on some freebie blogs and mom blogs. Today I got two Gooseberry Patch Booklets full of raisin recipes in the mail! I am always clipping online coupons from them. I got a free download of Microsoft Office 10 (Beta). I have a free book is coming in the mail and so are a plethora (hmmm haven't used that word in a long time!) of coupons. Oh and a free stand for my Nedi-Med Sinus Cleanser...lol! Two of my favorite freebie tip sites are Money Saving Mom and Freebie Blogger. Do you have any good money saving blogs you follow?

Random Thought #7
I just looked at the clock and I need to go to bed. If I could only be as alert at 3 pm as I am at midnight, I would be a rockstar...lol.

Random Thought #8
Isn't it odd that my blog spell check does not recognize the word "blog" as a word.

Random Thought #9
Blog. Blog. Blog. Take that!
