A Pizza Pie-ya!

Tonight I made a Pizza Pie-ya!

And, this time, I took pics for evidence... cause the Pizza Pie-yas don't last-a long-a 'round-a these-a parts-a... just sayin'

This is the same recipe as my Spinach Tomato-Basil Pizza, only the crust is done differently... and that makes all the difference in the world.

First things first... grab an iron skillet. Flip it upside down and place it in your oven's broiler. And heat that baby up... hot.

Meanwhile...

Grab your favorite pizza dough mix.

Mix it up and let rest 5 minutes

Take half of the dough and cover in corn meal.

Place some cornmeal on a plate and then spread a little corn meal on a plate and spread out your crust.

Make sure the crust will fit on your iron skillet...

Spread your sauce...

Snip some basil on top

Add some cheese-a

Spinach-a!

Tomato-a!

Salt and Pepper-a

Then add some mozzarella

Now until I have a pizza paddle, I just fold it over to transfer it to that really hot skillet.

Now it doesn't look to pretty after all of that... but it will after 3 quick minutes under the broiler.

No more, no less.

Then repeat for your other half of the dough.

Oh My, My!

Perfection on a plate.

Enjoy!

I know I sure did!

8 GOODe Thoughts:

That is mouth watering! I didn't realize Jiffy had pizza dough mix! I usually use Trader Joe's dough, which is ready to go and is found in the fridge section of the store, but I'll have to look for the Jiffy version.

Oh, this looks fabulous. I think we will have to try it this weekend!!

Delish!! I love making pizza on the weekends with fresh veggies. :-)

I totally made this that night because we talked about it over lunch!

I am so into fresh tomatoes, basil and spinach right now... if ya can't tell ;)

You, friend, are a WEALTH of tips...pizza on the back of a skillet. Genius! Plus, squeeze pizza sauce is now at the top of our grocery list. Thanks for another great recipe and thanks for linking up too! :)
