Addie's Craft Corner: Art Magnets

Miss Add has been busy in her craft corner...

She even taped a cute little vlog intro for today's craft.

This was a super easy craft that let Miss Add's creativity grow... just like the flowers she made into magnets :)

Now as you can see, Miss Add takes craft corner very seriously....

You will need some Foamies in whatever shape you want, glitter pens and button magnets...

Peel the backs off the magnets

Press on the back of one of the foamies

Now is the best part... decorating!

Very few things bring as much joy 'round these parts than GLITTER PENS!

Magnets as purdy as the art they are intended to display!

Tadah!

What do your little ones love to make in their craft corners?

Addie's Craft Corner: Mother's Day Flowers Craft

Miss Add has been a busy little bee. My little Monkey is all about the crafts and so we have decided to follow in Big Sissy's Cooking with an 8 Year Old's footsteps and give Miss Add her own series: Addie's Craft Corner.

With Mother's Day just a week away, Miss Add decided to make up some super special flowers for her Memaws.

First she picked out two matching foamie stickers in the shapes of heart and flowers for each of her flowers

Meanwhile mama took green pipecleaners and twisted them into double loops...

Then mama twisted them 2/3 of the way down another pipecleaner to make the perfect stem.

Miss Add then took the stems and stuck them between the two stickers.

Then she added back the centers to any that needed them.

And the base flower was complete.

Then Miss Add got busy decorating each flower with a special touch.

First she painted them...

And later she added glitter and pompoms to make them complete.

Then we took a large and small pompom to make our little buzzy bee for our bouquet.

Miss Add glued those babies together and then we grabbed some googley eyes.

And glued them on...

Then we took a black pipe cleaner and left room for a stinger and then wrapped it around mama's finger.

Mama then wrapped the bee to give her stripes and a stinger.

And wrapped once more.

Then we clipped a pipecleaner in half and formed the antennas

And glued them on...

Then we got down to making the vase. Miss Add gave it her special touch... sure to melt any Memaws' heart ;)

Then we slapped some glue dots on the side and created a cylinder.

Next we taped the flowers in place on the inside of the vase and arranged them around...

Then, we crumpled up two pieces of construction paper into two balls.

We then placed one ball up in the bottom of the vase and one in the top to keep everything in place.

TaDah! Very special flowers for two very special Memaws...

It's a GOODe Life: Mama Always Told Me to Eat My Veggies!

Well, today was the BIG day at the Goodes!

Miss Add's 3rd Birthday Party...

A Very Veggie Birthday Party that is... with a little Toy Story thrown in... to boot ;)

More on all of the festivities in a future post... for now, let's check out the cake.

Mommy directed while MeMaw executed the coolest birthday cake ever!

Addie decided MONTHS ago that she wanted a Bob birthday cake and that Mommy should have a Larry birthday cake, while Daddy should have a Junior birthday cake.

So since Addie and Mommy's birthdays are just two days apart, we had a Bob and Larry cake and made cupcakes...

Cupcakes that included... a cupcake just for Daddy...

Junior was just one of the clay charms I have been working on for a month now...

You can check out the making of Bob and Larry here

You can find the making of Madame Blueberry, Junior, Jean Claude, Philly and the "Happy Birthday" here.

Miss Add LOVED that she could play with the charms after the cupcakes were done.

I am so glad that I opted to make them out of clay rather than fondant.

Before we cut into the cake, Miss Add distributed the birthday cupcakes per her plan...

And then Aunt Lou butchered Bob... with a sort of gleeful intent...

Miss Add was soo excited about the cake all weekend long.

When we told her it was time to cut the cake she squealed with delight!

You would have thought Santa had just arrived.

More birthday highlights to come... stay tuned :)
